FMS 1400mm A6M Zero Grey PNP
US $359.99
In stock

The A6M Zero was a long-range fighter aircraft operated by the Imperial Japanese Air Service. In early combat operations, the Zero gained a legendary reputation as a 'dogfighter' remaining king of the air until around 1943. The aircraft was designed with long range and performance in mind, durability and pilot protection were not considered priorities which led to many very good pilots loosing their lives. Ultimately this resulted in an Allied advantage later in the war.

FMS has continuously developed and improved its 1400 Series of this famous Aircraft. The new Zero brings a cleverly constructed and extremely agile aircraft to add your hangar.

I found the previous version of this model hidden in the back of a local hobby shop's plane rack. It was $300 CAD at the time. I couldn't pass up the deal. I eventually sold it when I thought our field was closing due to issues with the lease contract negotiation. What a mistake...especially because the lease ended up being renewed. I will be purchasing a new one once I save up my pennies. This is a must-have in my hangar.
This plane is awesome, especially now that the new version has an upgraded motor (I updated the motor in the version I bought to the new one). This plane flies beautifully. It is smooth, agile and fast. And with a 3000mah 4S, you can easily get 6-7 minutes of hard flying and it handles wind wonderfully. It floats so well, I never used full flaps on landing. I usually used half or no flaps. The one recommendation I would like to see is a bolt-on tail, as many others have mentioned. If FMS updated this plane to include that in the next version, it would easily be a 5-star plane all around.
If you fly off of grass, I recommend the landing gear mod that Pilot Ryan from Motion RC has posted on YouTube. This gives the plane enough forward rake to easily handle slightly bumpy or longer grass. I also bumped the wheel size up slightly from 2 1/2" wheels to 2 3/4" Dave Brown wheels, which also help a little with shock absorption.
I have had a lot low wing aircraft but this zero flat out performs any thing that I have flown we ordered the fuselage and tail feathers the cowl just barley what was needed to put in our own set up .We bolted an E-flite 52 in and it screamed, we recently ordered a complete plane can't hardly wait to get it.
It flies so smooth !. We already bought the P47 1700mm and the 1400mm T28 they are a good value for the money.
