FMS 1100mm (43.3") Typhoon PNP
US $209.99
In stock

The Hawker Typhoon, was a British single-seat fighter-bomber, produced by Hawker Aircraft. When the Luftwaffe brought the formidable Focke-Wulf Fw 190 into service in 1941, the Typhoon was the only RAF fighter capable of catching it at low altitudes; as a result it secured a new role as a low-altitude interceptor. From late 1942 the Typhoon was equipped with bombs and from late 1943RP-3 ground attack rockets were added to its armoury. With those weapons and its four 20mm Hispano cannon, the Typhoon became one of the Second World War's most successful ground-attack aircraft.
Take to the skies with one of FMS’s latest offerings, the Hawker Typhoon 1100mm PNP! This scale 1100mm wingspan warbid is a sight to behold. Reinforce wing surfaces allow flyers to perform advanced maneuvers like point rolls, barrel rolls, Immelmanns, half-Cubans, and split S with ease. Retractable landing gear, 3-blades prop with spinner, and spit flaps all add to the realism of this incredible model. This plane has the power, detailed features, and durability that discerning flyers will appreciate, if you are looking for a British warbirds fighter, this is a great choice for you.

I love this plane. As Shropshire Lad indicated in his reviews, this plane flies like a much bigger plane. I have flown it in winds over 20 km/h and could easily bring it for a landing. It does get tossed around more than larger planes in such conditions, but it handled them much better than I anticipated. As he also mentioned, the forward positioning and wide stance of the gear makes ground handling, takeoffs and landings of this plane a breeze - any nose-overs I have experienced are due to pilot error more than anything.
This is one of my favourite planes. I love the unique silhouette in the air and enjoy flying it slowly over the field, especially at sunrise. There is something about the red sky glowing off of the invasion stripes and the slightly-gull wings. It is also quick for a 3S plane and you can easily get 6 minutes of flying time with throttle management. And you cannot beat the price for such a quality plane. The scale features are not quite up to par with what you expect from FMS, but to me it is irrelevant when you consider all of the strong attributes of this model. I will always have this plane in my hangar - this is the second one as I crashed the first one when I accidentally hit the throttle cut switch instead of the elevator switch (took me a 1/2 second too long to realize what I had done).
If you are considering this one, stopping thinking and throw it your cart!
Awesome 1100mm warbird with ample power on 2200 3S, big wheels well forward of leading edge make grass field ops no problem and it flies like a much bigger bird. Thanks FMS for finally doing this much forgotten but vitally important machine justice. Ordered on Tuesday, delivered in Aus on Fri - exceptional service.
Flies like a much bigger plane, rock solid at slow speed, climbs like a home sick angel at WOT and is super easy to land. No nose overs on grass strip so far and very well behaved on the ground too. Love it!
