John is a lifelong aviation enthusiast. He became a licensed pilot at the age of 17, and logged over 1000 hours in U.S. Navy helicopters as an aircrewman. John first picked up a radio transmitter in 1997 and has been involved in radio control hobbies ever since. In 2016, John began building complex long range FPV systems including scratch built ground stations, antenna trackers, and autopilot systems. He became a licensed HAM Radio Technician which furthered his understanding and capabilities of RF technology as it relates to the hobby. At that time, John started posting posting simple videos on YouTube of his adventures flying FPV. After the channel gained a following, he re-branded the channel to RC Video Reviews and began covering a broad range of radio control based content including planes, helicopters, quads, radios, tools, equipment, and RF tech. Both Jon and Tony have over 20 years of simulated flight experience and several years of RC flight experience between both of them combined.
